Mr. Ryan is our new Assistant Band Director at Sachse High School. He comes to us from Rains ISD in Emory, TX. For three years, he was the Head Junior High Band Director and Assistant High School Director. Mr. Ryan brought unseen success to the Rains JH band program before coming to Sachse.

Mr. Ryan's primary instrument is trombone but he has performed on all brass instruments. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. During his time at Commerce, he was the drum major, principal trombone of the Wind Ensemble, lead trombone of the jazz band, and president of the service fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. He was also a soloist with the Wind Ensemble that performed at TMEA, CBDNA, and Carnegie Hall. Mr. Ryan went on to receive his master’s degree in trombone performance from SMU and is a dissertation away from having a DMA in trombone performance and arts management from University of Houston.

During his time in college Mr. Ryan was an avid performer. He performed in DCI with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2010 and 2011. He also performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Opera, and Dallas Winds as well as many other groups. Also, during his collegiate studies, Mr. Ryan was a private lesson instructor in Richardson ISD, Fort Bend ISD, and Cypress Fairbanks ISD and had multiple 6A All-State and All-Area students every year.

Mr. Ryan has a wife of 6 years and 3 children. Two of which are two week old twins who were just born on July 3rd. He also has two German Shepherds and in his free time loves to play disc golf and watch many sports. His favorite teams are the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Ryan is very excited to join such a great band program like Sachse High School and wants to keep improving and reaching new heights for the Mustang Band
